He was a native of Tubal, Ark., but moved to Louisiana in his youth. He resided here for several years until his work as a rig builder took him to Arkansas and Louisiana towns. He resided in Kilgore for the past 33 years. Funeral services were conducted Friday at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with interment in that same city. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gustine Long Bowen of Kilgore; a daughter, Mrs. Merlene Barnette of Kilgore; two sons, Richard Bowen of Kilgore and Patrick Bowen of McComb, Miss.; his mother, Mrs. W. M. Bowen of Winnfield; five brothers, Fred and Dallas Bowen of Houston, Texas, Daulton Bowen of Folsom, Calif., Volmer and Ramon Bowen of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Hallie Carter and Miss Ruby Bowen of Winnfield and Mrs. Elinor Wooldridge of Granbury, Texas.
