Bowen, Winn Farmer, 76, Buried On Sunday Funeral services for William Martin Bowen, 76, Winn Parish farmer who died December 15 at his home, Route 4, Winnfield, were held Sunday, December 16, at the home of Mrs. Gamble Carter in Winnfield. He had been ill for about a year. Rev. Alwin Stokes had charge of services assisted by Lynn Browning. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. Bowen came to Winnfield from Junction City, Ark., in 1917 and began farming near Winnfield. He was 76 years, 10 months and nine days of age. Surviving are his wife, six sons, Daulton W. of Sacramento, Calif., Fred W. of Dallas, Texas., Alva, Kilgore, Texas, Volmer and Ramon of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Gamble Carter and Rubye Bowen of Winnfield, and Mrs. Raymond D. Wooldridge, Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren; a half brother, Gaston Tibbetts, Houston, Texas; and a half sister, Mrs. Jinny Pruitt, Anacoca, La. Pallbearers were W. H. Cameron, C. R. Brock, G. P. Long, Ira Key, J. C. Taylor, and A. J. Richardson. Attending from out of town were three nieces, Mrs. L. C. Rains, Bossier City, La., with her husband; Mrs. Paul Odum, Haynesville, La., with her husband, and Mrs. Arthur Shaw of Shreveport. Hixson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
