Box, 62, who was found dead on the levee near the old court house in Alexandria, June 27, were held June 29 at the Zion Methodist Church with the pastor Rev. Cotton, officiating. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers. Acting as pallbearers were nephews of the deceased. Rapides Coroner Dr. Walter L. Murrel said Mr. Box's death was due to natural causes. The deceased was born in Brookhaven, Miss., but lived most of his life in Winn Parish. He was a bricklayer. Surviving are three brothers, John, Elley, and Jake Box, of Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. Viola Gorham, Mrs. Milsey Maxey, and Mrs. Minnie King, Winnfield; Mrs. Mary Martin, Brookhaven, Miss.
