Decreased was a native of Grant Parish and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 3:30 April 1 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, Claude M. Box, Shreveport, Roy Box, Dry Prong; three daughters, Mrs. Elmo Smith, Mrs. Omera Taylor, Verda, Mrs. Effie Durham, Pineville; 19 grandchildren and a large number of great grandchildren; three brothers, William B. Carter and Eugene Carter, Winnfield, and John N. Carter of Montgomery.
