Sixth Sister of S. J. Harper of Winnfield is Buried at Nelson Mrs. Amanda Boyd, 79 years, 5 months, and 12 days, died suddenly at her home in Urania, La., Thursday, February 6, 1936, from a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted the following day at the Nelson Church in Ward Two. The Rev. E. M. Daffin conducted the services. Mrs. Boyd was a sister to Mr. S. J. Harper of Winnfield and was well kknown in this parish. She was born in Mississippi in 1856. In 1872 she became a member of Old Ebenezer Church in Ward Two of this parish. She was married in 1874 to James D. Boyd and later joined the Pine Hill Baptist Church of which her husband was a member. Surviving are two brothers, S. J. Harper of Winnfield and W. J. Harper of Crowville; one sister, Mrs. Katie Vickers of Sikes; three sons, J. W. Boyd, Curtis Boyd, and Lewis Boyd, of Urania; and two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Harris, Forest, La., and Miss Ella Boyd, Urania.
