All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: August 2, 1946 Winnfield News-American Funeral Conducted For Mrs. Boyett, Winnfield, Route 4 Mother of Four in Winn Dies Suddenly Saturday Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Boyett, 72, who died suddenly at her home at Winnfield, Route 4, at 6 p.m. Saturday, were conducted at the Zion Hill Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Winnfield, officiating. Interment was in the Zion Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Born in Lincoln Parish, Mrs. Boyett was educated in Winn and Jackson Parishes and was married to the late James A. Boyett at Vernon, La., in 1894. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A. D. Carson, Shreveport, Mrs. I. C. Creel, Winnfield, Route 4, Mrs. C. L. Rowell, Lake Charles, and Mrs. Dan Oden, Pine Bluff, Ark.; three sons, Jessie, Lloyd, and Howard Boyett, all of Winnfield, Route 4; two brothers, Robert Chandler of Winnfield, Route 4, and Wilie Chandler of Quitman; two sisters, Mrs. Della Cooper and Mrs. Euie Albright, Quitman;; and 22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lendon Creel, Charles Creel, Gordon Carson, A. D. Carson, I. C. Creel, and C. L. Rowell.
