     Funeral services for Virgil E. Boyett, 62 of Sikes, were held at 2:00 pm Friday in Friendship Baptist
Church near Sikes with the Rev. Jack Head and the Rev. Huey White officiating. 
     Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Hixon Brothers Funeral home of Winnfield. 
     Mr. Boyett died at 2:58 a.m. Thursday,March 10, 1977 in the VA Hospital at Alexandra after a short
illness. 
     A native of Richland Parish, Mr. Boyett was a veteran of World War 2. 
     Survivors include his widow,Mrs. Dell Boyett of Sikes; five sons, Martin Boyett and Keith
Bingham,both of Sikes,James Boyett and Billy Boyett,both of Baton Rouge,and Marvin Boyett of  Epps;
three daughters, Mrs.Shelia F. Bazar of Sikes,Mrs. Jean Pardue of Kilgore,Texas and Mrs. Nitta
Madison of Baton Rouge; two brothers,Harold Boyett of Natchez,Miss.and Charles Boyett of Baton
Rouge;and 16 grandchildren
