Montgomery Native, Dewitt Boyett, Dies

James Dewitt Boyett, 80, of Alexandria, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, December 15,
1971 in an Alexandria hospital.

He had been a deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 50 years and was a retired
paint salesman.  He was a native of Montogmery.

Survivors are one brother, V. R. Boyett of Pineville, and three sisters, Mrs.
Grace Harrington of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Carl Ahnfores of St. Petersbur, Fla.,
and Mrs. Myrtie Turner of Monroe.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hixson
Brothers of Alexandria.  Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery near Verda.
