Boyette Succumbs In Jackson, Miss. James B. Boyette, 40, of 3065 Terry Road, Jackson, Miss., succumbed to a gunshot wound at his residence February 3, 1961. Mr. Boyette, born and reared in Winn Parish, had lived in Jackson for the past three years. He was employed as a mechanic. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Forest Hill Masonic Lodge and a member of the Daniel Memorial Baptist Church. He was the nephew of Mrs. Dan Spencer, Mrs. Gladys Boyette, of Winnfield; Mrs. George Hughes of Taylor, Ark., and Mrs. Docia Lenard of West Monroe, Francis Boyette of Seattle, Wash., and Will Boyett of Taylor, Ark. Final rites were held February 6, 1961 in a Jackson, Miss., funeral home with Dr. A. O. Webb, pastor of Daniel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Frances Bowers Boyette, two sons, Gerald Bennett and James Richard Boyett; his stepmother, Mrs. Ben Boyette of Winnfield; and three half sisters, Miss Gloria Boyette, Mrs. Jessie J. Carpenter, and Mrs. Willie Frederick, of Winnfield.
