W. Bozeman, died at the home of her son, H. B. Bozeman, in Winnfield, Saturday, January 8, 1949, after several months illness. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, but the Rev. H. H. McBride, Baptist pastor, and Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dr. Jack Willis, Bossier City, Welby Willis, W. L. Sowers, M. T. Crowe, Francis Walker, and Estes Bozeman. Mrs. Bozeman was born in Onley, Ill., August 7, 1866. When an infant her parents moved to St. Helena Parish, and five years later to Arkadelphia, Ark., where she grew to womanhood. There she was married to M. W. Bozeman, Feb. 20, 1890 and in 1901 moved to Dodson and to Winnfield in 1905, where she has resided since. The Bozemans built the first home on East Center Street. She became a member of the Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Mrs. Bozeman was active in the work of the American Legion Auxiliary, holding the office of chaplain in that organization. She is survived by three sons, H. B. and Eck H. Bozeman of Winnfield and M. E. Bozeman, Sr., of Montgomery; two daughters, Mrs. P. J. Willis, Bossier City and Miss Eva Bozeman, Baton Rouge; one brother, Fred W. Eck of Pine Bluff, Ark., and a sister, Mrs. G. A. Bennett of Alice, Texas. Also 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
