All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 3, 1942 Winnfield News-American Funeral Rites For Mrs. Alice Brady Held Tuesday Funeral services for one of Winn Parish's oldest residents, Mrs. Alice Brady, 83, were held Tuesday, March 31, at her home in the Atlanta Community. Rev. W. D. Sherwood conducted the funeral and interment was in the cemetery at that community. The deceased was Miss Alice Hilburn before her marriage in 1875, her husband having preceded her to the grave several years ago. She was born in Winn Parish and lived in it all of her life. A devout member of the Methodist Church, she worked faithfully in it during the years. Mrs. Brady is survived by two children, Nathan Brady of Atlanta, and Mrs. Walter E. Caudle, also of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Wilson of Shreveport, Mrs. J. R. Horne of Atlanta, one brother, R. L. Hilburn of Dallas, Texas, and three nephews, R. R. Horne of Winnfield, N. R. Horne of Georgetown, and M. E. Horne, Atlanta. Pallbearers included Lloyd Wilson, Elree Wilson, Gus Ferguson, B. F. Billings, Jerrell Carrier and K. A. Thomas.
