J. W. Branch, 74, Brother Of Local People Succumbs

John Wright Branch, 74, of Midway, Jackson Parish, died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday
in a Jonesboro hospital after a long illness.  He was a life-long Jackson
Parish farmer and was a member of the Midway Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Midway Baptist
church by Rev.Woodrow Killen.  Burial was in the Midway Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Branch; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel
Lawrence and Mrs. Voree Robinson, both of Jonesboro; Mrs. Laverne Foster of
Clay, and Mrs. Helen Watts of Kirbyville, Texas; two sons, Clarence Branch of
Shreveport and Waylon Branch of Miami, Fla.; one brother, Mack L. Branch of
Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Tugwell of Winnfield; a half-brother, L.
L. Lee, of Dallas, Texas; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
