Branch, Clerk of Winnfield, Dies on Tuesday Heart Attack At Home Fatal To Well Known Man Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday for Alvie S. Branch, 64, city clerk of Winnfield, who died at his home about 6 a.m. Tuesday as a result of a heart attack. Rites were conducted by the Rev. P. M. Caraway, pastor, assisted by the Reverends Dr. W. L. Holcomb and Alwin Stokes, and interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Mayor D. C. Allen, Dr. A. W. Radescich, Robert Heard, Bob Reinhard, Joe Bevill, and James G. Russell, Jr. A native of Gaars Mill, Mr. Branch was born Feb. 21, 1888. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Gladys Branch; a daughter, Thelma Lowice Branch of New York City; two brothers, Mack L. Branch of Winnfield and Wright Branch of Jonesboro; and one sister, Mrs. J. L. Tugwell of Winnfield.
