Amos Brand Former Sikes Resident Dies

Amos Ernest Brand, 69, a former resident of Winn Parish, who had lived in
Shreveport for the past several years, died Monday night in a Shreveport
hospital after a lengthy illness.

Survivors are his wife, Pauline Brand; two sons, Jim Neal Brand and Jack
Brand, of Shreveport, two daughters, Mrs. Jack Deal and Mary Francis Brand, of
Shreveport, and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He is also survived by three brothers, Clay Brand of Beaumont, Texas, Louis
Brand and Francis Brand of Sikes, and three sisters, Mrs. Monroe Erskins,
Sikes, Mrs. Trudie Simmons, Verda, La., and Mrs. Jess Crain, of Pollock.

Services were held in the Salvation Army Chapel at Shreveport, Wednesday
morning at 10:00 a.m. and burial was in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery at
Williana at 1:00 p.m.
