Brand, Sikes Native, Dies In Koran Funeral services for Jack E. Brand, 47, of Koran were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Koran Baptist Church. Mr. Brand died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 8, 1972 in Bossier City General Hospital after an extended illness. He had lived in Koran about a year and had previously lived in Shreveport for about 20 years. He was a native of Sikes and was self-employed as owner of Brand's Garage. Burial was in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery at Williana. Officiating at the services were the Rev. Scott Teague, pastor of Koran Baptist Church, assisted by Salvation Army Brig. Elmer Capp of Shreveport. Survivors include his widow; his mother, Mrs. Amos Brand of Shreveport; a daughter, Earnestine Holstine of Viola, Ark.; a sister, Vaudine Deal of Shreveport; a brother, James C. Brand of Shreveport; and five grandchildren.
