R. Brown Held Friday Charles Raymond Brown, 71, of Winnfield, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 1972, in Jackson Parish Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Shell City, Mo., a member of the Knights of Pythias, and the Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Brown of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Ada Frances Brewer of Sprinfield, Mo.; three stepsons, Jimmy Anyan of Winnfield, Don Anyan of West Monroe, and Bobby Anyan of Minden; three sisters, Mrs. E. M. Brown of Bartlesville, Okla., Mrs. Don Axe and Miss Beulah Brown, both of Littleton, Colo.; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Southern. Burial was in Gorhamtown Cemetery near Joyce.
