Brew, Winnfield Negro, Killed In Korea Sgt. Henry E. Brew, 20 year old son of Alouis O. and Agnes Brew, colored, of Winnfield, was killed in Korea on Oct. 24, according to a War Department telegram received by his parents Wednesday. Sgt. Brew had been in Korea 10 months, following his re-enlistment into the Army in September, 1950. He was a company cook in the Second Division. Brew enlisted first in the Army when he was 17 years old and served a term before re-enlisting last year. He received his cooking training in Kentucky. Previous to enlisting in the Army, Brew worked at Owen's Barber Shop in Winnfield. His mother received a letter from him the day before the telegram arrived and written two days before his death. Survivors are his parents, four brothers, Joseph, Ferguson, Mayo, and Ernest; one sister, Lavelle, all of Winnfield.
