J. Elton Brewton

Services for J. Elton Brewton will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First
Baptist Church, Winnfield.  Officiating will be Dr. Calvin Phelps and Rev.
Steven Caraway.  Interment will be in the Garden of Memories, Winnfield, under
the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Brewton, 80, of Winnfield, died Monday, September 2, 1991, in Humana
Hospital, Winnfield.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member
of the Kingdom Builders Sunday School class and a retired businessman
and longtime Rotarian, Paul Harris Fellow.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva H. Brewton of Winnfield; two sons, Brian
Brewton of Winnfield and Greg Brewton of Bossier City, La.; one daughter,
Charlotte Minsky of Tallulah, La.; one brother, G. E. Brewton of Winnfield;
three sisters, Euna Smith of Ferriday, La., Esther Franklin of Goldonna, and
Ina Deere of Corpus Christi, Tex.; and nine grandchildren.
