J. S. Brewton, 82, Succumbs; Rites At Goldonna

John S. Brewton, Sr., 82, of Goldonna, died Friday, November 5, 1971 in
Natchitoches Parish Hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Goldonna Baptist Church with
Rev. Kit Hathorn officiating, assisted by Rev. Douglas Burnley.  Interment was
in Goldonna Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Brewton of Goldonna; four sons,
William Brewton of Shreveport, Harold Brewton of Goldonna, John Brewton, Jr.,
of Dallas, and Benjamin Brewton of Oakland, Md.; five daughters, Miss Edna
Brewton of Goldonna, Mrs. Laura Cooper of Hodge, Mrs. Elinor Webb of Norfolk,
Va., Mrs. Dorothy Franks of Shreveport and Mrs. Charlotte Shaw of Shreveport;
one brother, Buford Brewton of Goldonna; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Rushing, Mrs.
Delia Blake, both of Lake Charles; 26 grandchildren, and six great
grandchildren.
