Bright Died Friday A. M. Of Acute Attack Funeral services were conducted Saturday April 30th for Mrs. Josie Bright, wife of J. C. Bright, who resides on Elliott Street. Mrs. Bright was stricken Thursday with an acute attack and died at 6:00 a.m. Friday. She was 42 years, a Baptist, and was reared in Red River Parish near Coushatta, having lived in and near Winnfield for over fifteen years. Funeral services were in charge of Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist Church assisted by Rev. Carroway of Winnfield, the services being held at the graveside. Immediate relatives surviving are J. C. Bright, husband; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Adams, Misses Ernestine and Marie Bright, Winnfield, Mrs. Mercile Presseck, Cardova Mines, Ontario, Canada; one son, J. C. Bright, Jr., Winnfield; mother, Mrs. M. G. Newman, Winnfield, three brothers, J. W. Newman, Sarepta, W. P. Newman and C. D. Newman, Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. J. M. Parish, Springhill, Mrs. Ramond P. Eagles, and Mrs. B. C. Garris, Winnfield. Interment was in the family plot at the Winnfield Cemetery.
