Morgan Brian Succumbs To Heart Attack Wednesday Had Been Practicing Physician in Parish More Than 33 Years Dr. Solomon Morgan Brian, prominent and widely-known physician in Winn Parish for more than 33 years, at first locating at St. Maurice. In 1916 he came to Winnfield and was employed by the Tremont Lumber Company as their physician at Joyce. He remained in this employ until about six months ago when the last lumber camp was discontinued. He was the son of the late Rev. Iley Brian, pioneer Baptist minister and educator, who was identified with the early history of Winn Parish. Funeral services were held at the family residence on Center Street Thursday afternoon at four o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, followed by Masonic services at the grave in the Winnfield Cemetery. The Masonic rites were in charge of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge No. 151 F. & A. M. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. S. M. Brian, a daughter, Miss Eula Brian of Houston, Texas; two sons, Sam Brian of Jena and Sol Brian of Winnfield; two brothers, Dr. Nat M. Brian of Montgomery and Elmo Brian of Natchez, Miss.; four sisters, Mrs. Claude C. McQuiddy of Fayetteville, Tenn., Mrs. Roy Barker of Houston, Texas, Mrs. O. L. Hastings of Longview, Texas, and Mrs. Carl Rhinehart of Alexandria.
