Final Rites Held For Mrs. Brister Tuesday, Sept. 4

Funeral services for Mrs. J. S. Brister of Atlanta, Route 2, were held in the
Verda Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 4, at 10 o'clock a.m.  Rev. Speirs
officiated and burial in the Verda Cemetery was under direction of Southern
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brister, 82, died Monday, September 3, at a Winnfield hospital.  She was
a member of the Verda Baptist Church and was known as Aunt Cordia Brister.

Surviving are one son, Owen Brister of Verda; one brother, J. E. Schwartz of
Pineville; four sisters, Mrs. Lula Clark, Gertrude Spencer, both of New Verda,
Mrs. C. L. Shockley of Texas and Mrs. Etta Higdon of Glenmora.
