M. Brian Succumbs; Buried Here August 16th Mrs. S. M. Brian, 82, native of the Wheeling community, died in a Baton Rouge hospital Friday, August 14. She was the widow of the late Dr. S. M. Brian of Winnfield and spent most of her life in Winnfield, moving to Baton Rouge 10 years ago to make her home with her daughter, Miss Eula Brian. She was the former Miss Ebbie Octavia Fittz and was the sister of the late Dr. S. C. Fittz, well known Winn physician. She was a member of he Presbyterian Church of Winnfield. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 16, in the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. W. R. Gage officiating. Burial was in the Old Winnfield Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Frank Shaw, George Brewton, Judge Harwell Allen, D. D. Jacobs, Rudy Brian and Sam Brian, Jr. Surviving are two sons, Sam Brian of Winnfield and Sol M. Brian of New Orleans; one daughter, Miss Eula Brian of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
