Pvt. R. E. Brister Of Sikes Killed In Action July 17

Machine Gunner, Participates In Recent Invasion of France

Pvt. R. E. Brister, age 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Brister of Sikes, was
killed in action on July 17 in France, according to a telegram received
Wednesday by the family.

Pvt. Brister enlisted in the service in January 1943 and trained for a machine
gunner.  He had been overseas a few months before participating in the
invasion of continental Europe.
