A. Brister, 82, Succumbs; Rites Monday L. A. "Jim" Brister, 82, of Winnfield, died Sunday, July 23, 1972 in a Winnfield hospital. He was a retired crane operator and a native of Provencal. Survivors are a son, James H. Brister of San Antonio, Texas; a stepson, R. L. White of Greenville, S. C.; a sister, Mrs. Neal Collins of Bentley; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Mrs. J. G. Dickerson of Winnfield was a niece of the deceased. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Winnfield, with Rev. Charles Haley officiating, assisted by Rev. Calvin Phelps. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
