Rev. Frank Stringman, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, officiated. Burial was in Forest Park West Cemetery. He died Wednesday, December 15, 1982 at Veterans Administration Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Winnfield, the son of the late Louzettie Holmes Brown and James Albert Brown, and the grandson of the late Mrs. Joseph Holmes, 419 West Lafayette Street, Winnfield, where he resided until he graduated from Winnfield High School. Prior to living in Campti, Louisiana for two years, Mr. Brown had resided in Shreveport, La., for 25 years. He was a retired food salesman for Lone Star Institutional Food. He was a Baptist and veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Doris Hearne Brown of Campti; and three sons, Thomas Brown, James Brown, both of Shreveport, and Randy Brown of Keithville, La.; and three grandchildren. Also he is survived by his aunt, Mrs. Frances Holmes Wheeler of Winnfield.
