J. Broussard, 68, Succumbs; Rites Held Dec. 21 Kelly Joseph Broussard, 68, born October 8, 1899 in Marksville, La., passed away December 20, 1967 in a local hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Broussard, an electrician by profession with the T & G Railroad since 1929, came to Winnfield from Alexandria as an employee of the T & G and remained with the company until 1954 when he retired due to a disability. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 21, at 2 p.m. in the Catholic Church with the pastor, Father Lawrence officiating. Interment was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Florence Broussard, one son, Brooks Broussard of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Estes, Houston, Texas, Mrs. Herbert Thomas, Crowley, and Mrs. Lee Bickham, of Vivian. Two brothers, Elder Broussard, Marksville, and Elva Broussard of Alexandria, four sisters, Mrs. Ella LaComb of Oklahoma, Mrs. Albertina LaComb of Marksville, Mrs. Calvin Johnson of Marksville, and Mrs. Forrest Johnson of Cottonport, and ten grandchildren. Pallbearers were Laurie Mercer, Troy Smith, Louis Jenkins, Morris L. Wood, Alton Martin, and Benny Roberts.
