Brown Friday Afternoon Funeral services for David J. Brown, 77, retired farmer of Route 1, Montgomery, who died at his home Wednesday, June 16, 1948, after a long illness will be held at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Ward Five, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. T. A. Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. A native of Orangeburg, S. C., Mr. Brown was born October 15, 1870. He had been a resident of the Mt. Zion Community for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Callie Brown; two daughters, Mrs. Eva A. Garner and Mrs. Jessie Keiffer, Montgomery; five sons, Eugene and Pressley of Ohio; George of the U. S. Army; Marshall of Montgomery, and Crockett Brown of Shreveport; two brothers, Arthur Brown of Texas and Carey Brown of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. John Jackson, Shreveport and Mrs. Bessie Black of Ringgold.
