Brister Killed In France On July 17th R. E. Brister, 19, of Sikes was reported killed in action in France on July 17, according to a message from the war department received by his family Tuesday. Brister, who was employed as a logger before entering service one and a half years ago, was a machine gunner in the infantry. He had been overseas since last year. Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Hall of Sikes, and a young son; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Brister of Sikes; three brothers, Lester, of the U. S. Army, J. D. in the Navy; and Delmas of Sikes; and one sister, Nelvin of Sikes.
