H. Barton, died at his home six miles south of Winnfield near Sardis Church May 5th 1924. Willis was the earthly pride of a fond mother's heart. He leaves a father and mother, five brothers, five sisters and many other loved ones and friends to mourn his death. But our loss is Heaven's gain. He united with the Baptist Church at Macedonia Church at a young and tender age. It was the privilege of the writer to bury him with his Lord in Baptism and since that time we have known him to be loyal and true to his church. Willis was sick five years and during that time no one ever knew him to complain of his sufferings. He was confined to his bed for six months and all that medical aid and tender hands of loved ones could do, could not help him here. Willis always had a cheerful word and a sunny smile for everyone he met. He was loved by all who knew him and when the summons came he died as he had lived, in that faith that sustains the Christian in this life. His dying word to those around him were: "Goodby to you all, be good and meet me in Heaven." Dear Willis it was hard to say our last farewell for we know that we never again will see your smiling face and hear your gentle voice. Weep not loved ones for him, but live for God and one day you can meet him in the Paradise of God. A friend, G.B. Foster (George Balford Foster)
