Joseph Bryant Dies; Rites Held At Hargis

Funeral services for Joseph H. Bryant, 18, of Montgomery were held at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at the Hargis Baptist Church in the Hargis Community with the Revs. A.
J. Fogleman and Tom Smith officiating.

Burial was in the Hargis Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home
of Winnfield.

The Bryant youth died Friday afternoon of an apparent self-inflicted 20 gauge
shotgun wound to the head, Grant Parish Sheriff officials said.

Survivors include his father, James H. Bryant of Montgomery; his mother, Mrs.
Jimmie Heminger of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Richard and David Bryant of
Montgomery; one sister, Mrs. Lenora Jones of Monroe; maternal grandmother,
Mrs. Ruth Bazar of Montgomery; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Audie Bryant
of Montgomery.
