Mrs. Bryant was killed instantly early last Sunday, when the car in which she was riding struck the rear of a parked truck near Clarence. Her mother, Mrs. Zelma Mae Neal, 37, of Goldonna, sustained severe bruises and shock in the accident. According to the state police report, the truck and trailer had a flat tire three miles north of Clarence on U. S. Highway 71, and the driver had partly bogged down in his attempt to pull off on the shoulder of the road. Flares were set out at the rear and at the side of the truck. The driver of the truck, Charlie Chevalier, 32, Forest Hill, saw the approaching car and attempted to slow it down about 10 feet behind the vehicle. The driver did not heed his signal, the report said, and ran into the rear of the truck. Chevalier jumped and fell into a ditch to keep from being hit. Damages were estimated at $1200 to the car and $100 to the truck. Mrs. Bryant is survived by her father, Jake Neal and her mother, Mrs. Zelma Mae Neal, of Goldonna.
