Last Rites For Mrs. Bertha Mayes At Sikes June 7

Mrs. Bertha Mayes, 44, of Sikes died at 4:30 p.m. June 5 in Alexandria after a
lengthy illness.  She was a native of Joyce and was a member of the Sikes
Baptist Church.

Last rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Sikes Baptist
Church with the pastor, Rev. Killingsworth, Rev. Thurston Bryce, and Rev.
Willie James officiating.  Burial will take place at the Hebron Cemetery under
direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Mayes is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. D. Scroggins, Alexandria; two
brothers, Henry Sanders and Coy Sanders of Joyce; her father, C. O. Sanders,
Joyce; and four grandchildren.
