Sad Accident Causes Death of Little Verna Marian Buchanan Sunday Morning

Verna Marian Buchanan, age 3 years, 4 months, 3 days, was instantly killed
Sunday morning while playing with several other children around a pile of
cross-ties near her home.  A cross-tie was dislodged in some manner, falling
and breaking the little girl's neck.  The child was the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Buchanan.

Funeral services were held at the family residence Tuesday afternoon at four
o'clock.  Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery.  Rev. Cullen, pastor of the
Baptist Church, and Rev. Caraway, pastor of the Methodist Church, both
assisted in the services.

The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
