All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 9, 1931 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral services for Miss Sybil Bullard, who was killed in an automobile accident Friday, July 3, near Madill, Oklahoma, were held in Winnfield, at 4 p.m. Sunday at the residence of Mrs. A. L. McDonald, aunt of the deceased. The Rev. C. C. Wier, pastor of the First Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, conducted the services. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were T. C. Rembert, Owen Irwin, Hunter Norman, James Tannehill, Victor Matthews, Jarred Bevill, Lawson McDonald, Jr., and Mike Bozeman. Miss Bullard, 20, resided in Dallas, Texas where she was employed by the Graham-Brown Shoe Company. She, with three other young ladies of Dallas, were on their way to Sulphur, Oklahoma, to spend the 4th, when the car in which they were riding struck loose gravel and overturned, killing Miss Bullard and injuring the other occupants. The immediate family surviving Miss Bullard are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Bullard, a brother and sister, C. J. and Miss Bertha Dell Bullard, of Dallas, and a sister, Mrs. Victor Matthews of Shreveport. Out of town relatives and friends attending the last rites for Miss Bullard here Sunday were: Mrs. L. J. Soulie and daughter, of Lafayette; Miss Nan Tarwater, Colfax; Owen Irwin, Baton Rouge; John Hyde, Tide; Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Speer and I. S. Bearden of Dallas, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Rau, and Mrs. H. S. Peeler, of Shreveport; Mr. Burke Hatvenkler of Dallas; Mrs. A. M. Goodwyn and daughter, Ruth, of New Orleans; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hines of Lake Charles; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rembert of Shreverport; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Hyde, Colfax; Mrs. S. L. Wells and Miss Catherine Hyde, Colfax; Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Bozeman and children, Pineville; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Matthews, Shreveport; Mrs. Sterling Crumpler of Wichita Falls, Texas; Mrs. Ruth Cain and daughter of Wichita Falls, Texas; Mrs. G. B.
