A. Burch, Mother of Victim, Is In Critical Condition Leroy Burch, 22, of Gaars Mill, died in the Charity Hospital in Pineville Wednesday about noon from injuries received by being struck by a car driven by J. B. Rubrect, a CCC youth in the New Hope Camp. Mrs. O. A. Burch, 47, mother of the youth, was seriously injured and is in the hospital. The accident occurred at about 6 o'clock Tuesday morning on the graveled road in front of the Burch home at Gaars Mill. Mr. Burch, his wife and son, were trying to start the motor of a truck standing on the highway in front of their home when the car driven by the CCC youth, 22, of Rayville, ran into the two persons. Mrs. Burch and her son were carried to the Charity hospital at Pineville, where the youth succumbed Wednesday and late reports advised that the condition of Mrs. Burch, who was given blood transfusions, was critical.
