Last Rites For John W. Burnum Held In Oregon

John Washington Burnum of 1122 L Street, Springfield, Ore., passed away at the
age of 71 years, 10 months, and 14 days at his home on Monday, January 19,
1948.

Born March 5, 1876, in Winn Parish, he made his home in Winn Parish until five
months ago when he moved to Springfield, Ore.  He was a member of the
Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ella Burnum, and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Waller,
of Springfield, Ore.; three sons, Martin Burnum of Springfield, Ore.; Clarence
W. Burnum and Ebbin Burnum, both of Arlington, Texas; 11 grandchildren,
four great grandchildren, three half sisters, Mrs. Eveline Abels and
Mrs. Mattie Blake, Calvin, La., and Mrs. Lee Bedgood, Goldonna; four half
brothers, Luther and Wade Burnum, Winnfield, Route 4; Joe Burnum,
Jonesboro, and Perry Burnum, Hodge.

Funeral services were held in Springfield, Ore., January 21, 1948, with the
Rev. Frank Nixon officiating.  Interment was in Rest Haven Memorial
Park, Eugene, Ore.
