F. W. Burkett, Former Resident of Winn, Dies

Frank Willard Burkett, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Burkett of Lake Charles, and
former resident of Winnfield, died in the Veteran's Hospital in Haynes,
Illinois, Sunday, April 17, 1938.  Mr. Burkett was a patient in the Veteran's
Hospital in Alexandria for two months before he was carried to Haynes,
Illinois for further treatment of brain tumors.

Mr. Burkett was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Mathis of Winn
Parish.  During the World War he served twenty-one days on the front.

Interment was held in Elks City, Oklahoma.  The deceased is survived by his
wife, a daughter, Bertha Mae Burkett, a son, Sonny Burkett, and his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. L. Burkett.
