C. W. Burnum, 78, Native of Winn, Dies In Monroe

Charlie W. Burnum, 78, native and longtime resident of Winn Parish died
Wednesday morning in a Monroe convalescent home.  Mr. Burnum was born in Ward
Four and lived in the Cypress Creek community most of his life, until moving
to Jena about thirty years ago.

Funeral services were at the Fellowship Baptist Church near Jena this
afternoon (Thursday).

Survivors include two sons, Lawrence C. Burnum of Jena, and John Wesley Burnum
of Shreveport; three grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Bertha Allen, Mrs. Jesse
Temple, Mrs. W. M. Taylor, all of Dodson; Mrs. G. C. Taylor of Winnfield; and
Mrs. Catherine Brantley of Lufkin, Texas.
