Mrs. Fannie Butts Dies At Age Of 83

Mrs. Fannie Elnora Butts of Lake Charles died at a Lake Charles hospital
Saturday, Nov. 29 following a stroke and pneumonia.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 1, at the Hixon Brothers Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Herman Battett and the Rev. James A. Achord officiating. 
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Garden.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Gilburn Butts, Lyndred Montgomery, Larry
Butts, H. G. Foster, Gene Montgomery, and J. T. Foster.

The deceased was born in Winn Parish April 10, 1875 and was 83 years of age at
the time of her death.  On May 21, 1901 she married William Allen Butts, who
preceded her in death two months ago.  She was a member of the Bentley Baptist
Church.

Survivors include three sons, Willie Butts of Moss Bluff, Lawrence Butts of
Westlake, and Horace Dunn of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Florrel Butts of
Colfax, Mrs. Ella Foster, Mrs. Tessie Montgomery and Mrs. Florence Harper, all
of Lake Charles; 24 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and three great-
great grandchildren.
