All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 28, 1967 Winn Parish Enterprise-News American Last Rites For Mrs. Phillip Butts Sept. 27 Funeral services for Mrs. Phillip Butts of South King Street who died in a Winnfield clinic at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 1967, following a short illness, were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church with the pastor, Rev. W. R. Gage, officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Jack Henderson, J. R. Harrison, P. H. Cole, Morris Wood, Ben Price, and Walter Maxwell. A native of Winn Parish, Mrs. Butts was the former Ruth Odell Bevill, a descendant of one of the pioneer families of this parish. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Jean Hamm, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Ruth Jones, New Orleans, Mrs. Marie Parker, Winnfield, and Mrs. Ann Green, Shreveport; one brother, Guy Bevill, Sr., Winnfield; and one sister, Mrs. Ruby Hamrick, Vivian, La., and 11 grandchildren.
