Willie Bowie, Jr., Colored, Died In New York Mar. 31

Winnfield friends of Willie Robert "Sonnie" Bowie, Jr., colored, were schocked
to learn of his death at his home in Jamaica, Long Island, New York, on 
Monday, March 31.  He was 40 years old and was a native of Winnfield.

He attended Southern University and served in the Armed Forces, reaching the
rank of master sergeant.

He was buried in New York.  Survivors are his wife, Bertha, his mother,
Molemur Bowie, his father, Willie R. Bowie, Sr., and two sisters, Nova and
Beatrice, and other relatives.
