Burial Rites Held For Miss Emma Byrd Of Mars Hill

Miss Emma Byrd, 65, of the Mars Hill Community, passed away Sunday at the
residence of her niece, Mrs. F. M. Bishop, of Laurel Heights.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church
with Rev. Dell Durand officiating.  Interment was in the church cemetery under
direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.

Survivors include one brother, W. Byrd of Montgomery; one sister, Mrs. Rebecca
Silman of Winnfield; a half brother, Richard Byrd of Bentley; a half sister,
Mrs. Myrtle Jowers of Colfax; five nieces and seven nephews.
