All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 19, 1960 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Mary Ann Chandler Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mary Ann Chandler, 89, Route 2, Winnfield, who passed away at 11:30 a.m. May 16, at the John Long home after a prolonged illness. Mr. Chandler was born a Wyrick in London, Kentucky, July 14, 1870. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. at the Zion's Rest primitive Baptist Church near Jonesboro. The Rev. Leland Swanner officiated, assisted by Rev. J. D. Thompson and Rev. Charles Christie. Interment was at the church cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield. Pallbearers were six grandsons: J. C. Wright, Max Allen, Jimmie Boyd, Lane Boyd, Joe Sumlin, and Norris Long. Mrs. Chandler's first marriage was to Robert Wright (deceased). To this union were born three children: Annie (Mrs. M. M. Allen, deceased), Josie (Mrs. John Long, Route 2, Winnfield), with whom she resided for the past 14 years), and Jessie Carlyle Wright, Route 2, Winnfield. Her second marriage was to David Boyd (deceased) and there were three children from this marriage: Jessie Boyd, Harvey Boyd, and Thomas Boyd, all of Ruston. Her last marriage was to Newton Chandler, now deceased. She is also survived by: two stepchildren, Mrs. Lou Burnett of Sikes and Dawson Boyd of Clarks; two sisters, Mrs. Marvin Wilhite of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Lou Ball of Ruston; 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
