Last Rites For Dr. H. Y. Bell Held Tuesday


Dr. H. Y. Bell, pastor of the Morning Star and L & A Baptist Churches of
Winnfield and the Riverside Baptist Church of Monroe, died in the St. Frances
Hospital, Monroe, on July 10.

A native of Catahoula Parish, he had served as pastor of the Morning Star
Baptist Church for 35 years.  He received his high school diploma and a
bachelor degree in Theology at Coleman College, and bachelor of Arts in
Religious Education from Bishop College.

He served as president of Little River Baptist Association, vice president of
the New Hope Baptist Association and held offices in national, state, and
local religious organizations.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, one grandchild, a brother, and two
sisters.
