Canterbury Of Atlanta Is Buried Sunday 80 Year Old Retired Farmer Succumbs After Long Illness J. H. Canterbury, 80 years of age, a resident of the Atlanta community most of his entire life, and a retired farmer, died Saturday in a Shreveport hospital, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Canterbury was a member of the Atlanta Baptist Church and as long as his health permitted, attended regularly and took an active part. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Strain of Simmsboro officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fletcher of Selma. Burial was in the Atlanta Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased. Surviving are the widow; five sons, John Canterbury, Alexandria; Charles Canterbury, Florine; Frank Canterbury, Magnolia, Ark.; A. G. Canterbury, Atlanta; Dallas Canterbury, Houston, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. J. L. Barberousse, Taylor, La.; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
