M. Capps Dies In Week End Accident Hubert M. Capps, 32, of Pollock, died instantly in a head-on collision with a large truck on U. S. 165, three miles north of Pollock, according to state police. The accident happened at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Reports indicate that the car Capps was driving crossed the center line of the highway. Albert V. Coker of Morgan City, driver of the truck, was uninjured. Capps is survived by his wife, Helen Capps of Pollock; two stepsons, Johnny Kircher and Frankie Curcher, both of Pollock; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Magdalene Smith of Pollock and Mrs. Sharon Waldron of Tioga; a half sister, Mrs. Suzanne McCartney of Winnfield; his parents, J. W. Capps, Jr., of Tullos and Mrs. Essie McCartney of Winnfield. Funeral services were held in the Friendship Baptist Church in Pollock at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.
