Carter From: March 30, 1954 Winnfield News-American Funeral Services Wednesday 3 P. M. For W. S. Carter Funeral services for W. S. Carter of Calvin will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at Sanders Chapel. Mr. Carter died following a long illness in a local hospital Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock. He was a life-long resident and retired farmer of the Calvin area and was active in the civic affairs of the community. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Della Carter, five sons, Wesley Carter, deputy sheriff, Arville and Jepp Dayton Carter, Winnfield, W. S. Carter, Jr., Epps, and Edmund Carter, Calvin; five daughters, Mrs. Alma Fletcher, Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Lois Dickerson, Winnfield, Mrs. W. A. Fowler, Monroe, Mrs. Elsie Bonnette, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Colleen Carpenter, Calvin; four brothers, J. E. Carter, L. C. Carter, and Ed D. Carter, Winnfield, Charles M. Carter, Jonesboro, and three sisters, Mrs. Dan Lowe, Verda, Mrs. S. C. Jackson and Mrs. Virgil Williams, Winnfield.
