Bob Carson Found Dead In Cabin At Saline Lake Camp

Bob Carson, 46, owner of a furniture store in Many, was found dead in his
cabin at the Collins and Irvin fishing camp about noon Thursday, according to
the Winn Parish sheriff's department.

He had been dead from nine to 14 hours and cause of his death was not
determined by Dr. George M. Rodgers, deputy Winn Parish coroner, according to
Miley Walsworth, deputy sheriff who accompanied the doctor on the
investigation.

Carson arrived alone at the camp Wednesday morning and told Mrs. Roy Collins
there that he planned to fish for about two hours, but that he returned to his
cabin about an hour later, Deputy Sheriff Walsworth quoted Mrs. Collins as
saying.  Shortly before noon today Mrs. Collins and her husband, noticing that
Carson's car was still parked near his cabin, decided to investigate and upon
entering the cabin they found Carson dead in his bed, apparently having
retired.

Funeral arrangements were not known here.  Carson was a native of Jonesboro,
it was reported.
