                                                  LAST RITES FOR J.W. CARPENTER OF CALVIN FEB. 28   

Last rites for John W. Carpenter, 74, of Calvin, who died in a Winnfield
hospital February 27, were held at the Calvin Baptist Church February 28 at 4
p.m. with the pastor, Rev. W.C. Hall, officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem
cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

The deceased was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Milburn of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Mrs.
Preston Canerday of Calvin, and Mrs. Frank Harrell of Jackson, La.; one
brother, Rich Carpenter, of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Harris of West
Monroe and Mrs. Martha Malone of Jonesboro. He also leaves five grandchildren
and three great grandchildren.
